PSX_20150826_151702My name is Allison, although by now most of you know me as Alli. I was diagnosed with food allergies when I was 10 months old, and I am allergic to milk, eggs, beef, peanuts, lamb, sesame, carrots, strawberries, and nuts. Yes, you read that right. I have so many food allergies my cousin had to make a little song so he could remember all of them. But I don’t just have food allergies; I have asthma and am also allergic to pollen, dust, mold, hay, wool… I think you get the idea. I could stop here and let you believe that I center my life around my food allergies, as I know many do. But I’m not like that. There is much more to me than just my food allergies and I want it to be known.

I am a cheerleader.

I am a scholar.

I am an actress.

I am a musician.

I am a photographer.

I am an extrovert.

I am an optimist.

But most importantly,

I am me.

I have never let my food allergies prevent me from doing what I want to do and being who I want to be. I am involved in every club, activity, and group that I can get my hands on. And that’s why I’m here. I want to do the same for you, your child, friend, or sibling. I want to show you my lifestyle, how I live day by day without letting my food allergies stop me. Although my original goal was to help my peers, I realize now that this is more for those that want to understand what its like for those with food allergies, whether its your child or friend.  I hope you enjoy reading my blog, and I hope you find it insightful to the world that I share with 15 million other Americans.

Wishing you the best,
